Dale Laffoon, 80, of Harriet died Wednesday. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the army. He received several medals including a Purple Heart.
Mr. Laffoon was a farmer and did some drywall work. He was a member of the Rock Creek Assembly of God Church. His church meant everything to him.
Dale was born March 25, 1924 to George and Carrie Lack Laffoon in Rush, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Edmond George Laffoon. Survivors are his wife Polly Watts Laffoon of the home, two daughters; Georgia Sue Horton of Marshall, Nancy Docekal of Witts Springs, one son Aubrey Laffoon of Harriet, sisters Zella Avey and Linnie Jackson. Also nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 PM at the funeral home. The service will be Friday 2 PM at the Rock Creek Assembly of God Church with Phillip Avey, Phillip Clark, and David Campbell officiating. Pallbearers are Charles Dye, Fred Jackson, Jerry Watts, Jerry Jones, Donnie Bert Watts, and Andrew Laffoon. Honorary pallbearers are Odas Humphrey and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
