He married Anna Augusta Brown, daughter
of William L. Brown and Deborah Britton Cook,
on April 19, 1874; they were married until his death. The couple had at least three children, all daughters, namely:
Alberta (Corlies) Clark (1875-1938) and
Deborah A. (Corlies) Burk (1877-1922), and
Hannah M. (Corlies) Buckage (1882-after 1919).

"Russell Corlies, a young man of Long Branch Village, while trimming a house in New York city, fell from a saw horse on which he was standing and fractured his skull. He was taken to Bellevue hospital, where he died in a few hours."
