Dr. Julius W. "Doc" Ott, 62, of Hiawatha, Kansas died February 8, 1980 after he suffered a heart attack from shoveling snow. He was born March 12, 1917 to Charles Phillip William and Christina Catherine (Hoerrmann) Ott in Clay Center, Kansas.
Doc was a graduate of the Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri and the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He had been a chiropractor in Hiawatha, KS since 1946.
He was a veteran of World War II where he served as a medical corpsman in the Navy.
Doc had been on the Hiawatha City Council for 18 years and served as city finance commissioner most of those years. He was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Homer-White Post No. 66 and the American Legion, all of Hiawatha.
He married Oneita L. Yeager, in Ithaca, New York, on Nov. 14, 1942.
