Obituary:

Charles B. Alexander, 69, of Alliance, died on Saturday, February 2, 2002, at 5:20 a.m. at his residence.

Born in Alliance on June 10, 1932, he had lived in Alliance for all of his life.

A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was the owner and operator of A&M Transit Charter Bus Lines for over 30 years.

Mr. Alexander was a member of the Masonic Temple, Conrad Lodge; Master Mason, Grand Lodge of Ohio; Scottish Kite, Valley of Canton; the Tadmor Temple; and the Alliance Shrine Club. He was also a member of the William Penn Club and a life member of the B.P.O. Elks, Lodge 467.

Survivors include daughter, Dana Alexander of Alliance; son, David C. Alexander of Alliance; a stepdaughter, Kim A. VanDerkar of Alliance; stepson, Mark A. Akins of Las Vegas, NV; stepson, Clint A. Akins of Louisville, Tx; three grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Charlotte Ann (Dudas) Alexander; his parents, Clyde B. and Reba M. (Bosworth) Alexander; and a stepson, Bret A. Akins.

Funeral services will be held at Sharer- Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. with Joseph Peters officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., where there will be a Masonic Service on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., and an Elks Service on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
