William "Bill" Forestier Becquet was the son of Norbert Joseph Becquet and Emma Jane Dufrin. He married Mae "Marie" Frizzell, daughter of James Albert Frizzell and Susan Jane Smith, 22 Jul 1931 at Garden City, Finney County, Kansas. He was a graduate of Garden City High School.

Between 1940 and 1948, Bill made his living as a machinist at the Machine Supply Company in Garden City. He began working as a parts man for Burtis Motor Company in Garden City around 1950 and retired there around 1977, as parts manager. He was a lifetime resident of Garden City.

Bill was a member of the Tyrian Masonic Lodge No. 246, past deputy grand master of the Grand Lodge of Kansas, member and past patron of Finney County No. 359, order of the Eastern Star, advisory council of Garden City Chapter of DeMolay, and a member of Chapter No. 83, Royal Arch Masons between 1947 and 1981 at Masonic Lodge, Garden City Kansas.

Bill and Marie had one child (Billie Mae), a daughter who died the day after she was born. Marie preceded him in death on 22 Aug 1962. He then married again to Geneva "Ferne" Barger Rice on 11 Jul 1970 at Dodge City, Ford County, Kansas. Ferne passed away on 1 Jul 2000.

Bill died after having open-heart surgery. He had a heart attack while he and his wife, Ferne were driving through Texas. They were on their way to Garden City from their winter home in Arizona. A funeral service for Bill was held on 26 May 1981 at the First Baptist Church in Garden City, Kansas.
