George served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with the Missouri State Highway Patrol for 35 years prior to his retirement as a Lieutenant on Dec 13, 1989. George was the son of Sherman and Louise Coventry Grazier, His father Sherm was a conductor for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was was married February 10, 1951 in Jefferson City Mo. to Betty Jo Holt. He was a lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area and was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson City HIgh School where he was co-captain of the Jay football team. He also attended Central Missouri State Universisty and Lincoln University. He was a member of the Central United Church of Christ, a charter member of the 1033 Benevolent Fund, a founding member of the Friends of Rochport, a founding father of the California Cabelleros, a youth saddle club.A charter member of the Ware Creek Yacht Club, a group of retired highway patrol officers, a past president of the Quarter Century Club of MSHP. A member of the MIssosuri State Historical Society, A member of the American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5, a member of the Masonic Lodge number 183 of California, Mo. A member of the Moolah Temple, Columbia, Mo. and a member of Mystic Shrine, St. Louis. He was the author of "And then it Happened", a book detailing the killings of patrolman Ben Booth and sheriff Roger Wilson in the line of duty. George received resolutions from the Missouri Senate, House of Representatives, and Governor on his lifetime of accomplishments.
