Son of Harry Harold Dyar and Hattie Iva Polite Dyar. Siblings Dora Aileen Dyar and Marion Harold Dyar. Died in swimming accident when he dove head first into the Green River hitting concrete below the surface. He was with his father and brother on their way to Washington state just days before his 15th birthday.

8/24/1929 Young Guthrie Boy Drowns in Wyoming (Saturday)
Guthrie, Aug. 23 – Robert Dyer, 14-year-old Guthrie boy, was drowned at Greenriver, Wyo., Friday, according to word received here Friday night.
With his father, Harry Dyer and younger brother, Marion, he was on a trip to Washington, where they expected to work.
His mother, Mrs. Hattie Dyer was prostrated with grief and was under the care of a physician here Friday night. The body will be brought here for burial.

8/28/1929 BOY SWIMMER DIES WITH BROKEN NECK (Wednesday)
Report Was That Guthrie Youth Drowned
Guthrie, Aug. 27 – Robert Dyar, 14-year-old son of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Dyar of Guthrie, who was reported drowned at Green River, Wyo., last Friday, suffered a broken neck when he struck an old culvert sunken in the Green river when he dived while in swimming there, it was learned on arrival of the body here Monday night. The boy did not come to the surface and the father had to dive several times to recover the body.
Harry Dyar, accompanied by Robert and a younger son, Marion, was on a trip to Washington, where they expected to settle. The mother was to join them later. She has been under the care of a physician since receiving word of the death.
Funeral services are to be held here Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Alvin W. Hedlin, pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist church, officiating.
Besides his parents and brother the boy is survived by his sister, Mrs. Carl Gregg of Guthrie.
