James Allday, 37, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel with Reverends Scott Loar and Jimmy Griffith officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel. Visitation will be 1 to 2:30 Friday at the funeral home.

James was born July 21, 1967 in Abilene to Jim and Betty Jones Allday. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1985, Texas Tech University in 1989 and Tarleton State University in 1995. James was parts manager for R.P.M. Motorcycles and worked in the electrical department at Lowe's. He was a member of the Master Gardeners.

Survivors include his parents, Jim and Betty Allday of Abilene; a sister, Tiffany Allday of Brownwood.
