Sarah Estella Bilyeu was born January 7, 1874, and departed this life April 28, 1937, at the age of 53 years 3 months and 21 days.
She was the eldest of twelve children of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Andrews of Greenville, Illinois. Her parents and five brothers and sisters precede her in death.
She was married December 14, 1898 to Jess A. Bilyeu, of Pocahontas, Illinois. To this union were born two children, both of whom died in infancy.
In 1907 with her husband she moved to Oklahoma, locating in the Canadian neighborhood where they have lived continuously since that time.
About 25 years ago they took into their home a small boy, Kennie Leath. To this child she was a mother, taking care and loving him as her own.
She was a neighbor and friend to all she knew and was ever doing all she could for the betterment of her community.
She joined the Methodist church as a young woman and was a constant Christian all her life.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday from the Shirley Church with Rev. I.. G. Engle officiating.
