Stiles, 85, died Wednesday evening at an Enid Oklahoma hospital following an illness of several weeks. He was a retired farmer and lived with his son Cecil on the farm he homesteaded at the opening of the Cherokee Strip. He came to Oklahoma from Renick Missouri.
Survivors include five sons: Vircho and Cecil of Fairview Oklahoma, Harold of Lambert Oklahoma, John of California and Orville of Cleo Springs Oklahoma; one daughter Mrs. Bob (Maryanna) Bowman of Hardesty Oklahoma.
NOTE: The family records show his name to be Simon and the census records on ancestry actually shows spelling both ways.
