Ruth was born on October 6, 1921 in Salmonarm, B.C., Canada to Arthur and Anne Brooke. She passed away on August 1, 2008. Ruth‘s father was a well known Canadian artist who chronicled her childhood in his drawings which can be viewed at www.pwt.net/ruth. Ruth married William Peterson in July, 1951. She was preceded in death by her husband William in 1985. Ruth is survived by her niece, Lola (Norman) Lawson of Des Moines, WA; a second cousin, Lynne Rach of Calgary, Canada and by many long-time friends.
Ruth was employed as a secretary with The Washoe County District Attorney and the Registrar of Voters Offices. After retiring from Washoe County she spent several years as a bookkeeper with United Way of Northern Nevada.
As Ruth requested no services will be held. She will be interred by the side of her beloved William at Mountain View Cemetery.
