Cora Singleton Young, 89, a resident at Taylor Manor Nursing Home, Versailles, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, in Versailles.
She was born in Stanford, Ky., Feb 27, 1909, a daughter of the late Moses and Josie McMullin Singleton. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, J. L. (and Mary Ellen) Young, Nicholasville; two grandchildren, Stephen Keith (and Marsha) Young and Beverly Michelle (and Jim) Arnold; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Olivia Paige Young; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lee Young; a son, Wendell Eugene Young; a daughter, Norma Joyce Tichy; three brothers, Edward, Everett and Clarence Singleton; and two sisters, Lelia and Mamie Singleton.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Eubank Cemetery.
