He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Opal Parks Long; three sons, Otis Long, Marion, John Long, Richmond, Jay Long, Hyattsville, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Phelps, Marion; a brother, L. J. Long, Roanoke; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Vaught, Sugar Grove, Mrs. Ruth Anderson, Westminster, Md., Mrs. Malinda Cornett, Trout Dale, Mrs. Lilie Seagle, Tulsa, Okla., 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday in Barnett's Funeral Chapel, Marion, by the Rev. David Brown, the Rev. Claude McKinnon, the Rev. Jerry Fleenor, the Rev. J. R. Shumate and the Rev. Sidney Mays. Interment followed in Roselawn Cemetery.
