Caroline was the daughter of William Andrew Pete Bell and Susanna Langley. Her maiden name was Bell.
Callie's birthplace and year in the 1906 Guion Miller Eastern Cherokee Application shows her birth place on the first page as Georgia, April 9, 1868 but on another page Cocke County, Tennessee, 1867. Most census shows birthplace Tennessee. We found documents by family history that showed the family had arrived sometime in 1870 in Cherokee Nation Indian Territory, near the current Westville, OK area. Callie states she was 3 yrs. old when they arrived in 1870.

Her siblings were:
1. John Bell (as listed)
2. Lucinda "Cinda Lue" Bell (b.1865-Unknown)
3. Julia Ann Bell (as listed)
4. Savannah G. "Vannie/Fannie" Bell Webster (b. 1871-1897) (See Memorial #14281460)
5. Tilton Dave Bell (b.1872-1961) (see memorial #14229819)
NOTE: Andy Bell was a half-sibling by Callie's father's 2nd wife, Lora (Laura) Octavia Welch

Caroline "Callie" married her first husband, Samuel M. Gambrell (also spelled Gamble, Gambol, Gambill) Nov. 20, 1887, at Going Snake District, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory. (see memorial #211824492 for Samuel's info which also needs updated--His death was in Vinita, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, OK on August 27, 1900.) Samuel and Caroline had one child together that has been confirmed: Pearl "Pearly" Mae Gambrell (b. Sept. 1887 to unknown death--sometime aft. 1933). My Grandpa George Adams Martin had Pearly's name written on some documents as a sister; although half-sister. Callie and Samuel Gambrell divorced abt. October 1890 (Western Arkansas court records).

Callie's 2nd husband was James Lewis Still (see memorial #5308520). They married February 15, 1891 (see Western Arkansas court records). They had two children together (one confirmed with multiple docs; the other Linnie only one document found):
Linnie Still (b. 1892 - death unknown) listed on her and James' 1893 Delaware District, Cherokee Nation Census along with Callie's daughter, Pearl who stayed with Callie for a short time before going with her father, Samuel after their divorce.
General Jackson Still (1895 - 1929) who is buried on private Martin property In Leach, Oklahoma.

James and Callie were seperated sometime by August 1897 and divorced later.

Callie's 3rd spouse was John N. Still (see memorial #5308519). They had one son together, George Adams Martin (Still) born Jan. 20, 1899. (See memorial #7550891). This is grandpa George's story to his children and it is reflected in a few documents that I have found. George visited John before his death as well as his half-sister Mary E. Still Huls Rusk the daughter of John N. Still who also confirmed the relationship. I have pictures of Mary E. Still Huls Rusk and grandpa George together on a few occasions before they died. George was adopted by Nathaniel Richard Martin, Callie's 4th husband.

Callie married her 4th husband, Nathaniel Richard Martin (see memorial #29358681) on August 17, 1899 in Benton County, Arkansas. Nathaniel adopted George Adams Martin (Still) on September 13, 1900 when he and Callie enrolled and made application for Callie and the children as citizens of the Cherokee Nation. Nathaniel and Callie had three sons together:
Mack McKinley Martin (see Memorial #27915354), (b.1902-1984)
Jesse Roosevelt Martin (b. 1904-1929; buried on private Martin property in Leach, OK)
Samuel Edward Martin (b. 1906-1908); buried on private Martin property in Leach, OK)

Nathaniel Richard Martin had 6 wives:
1. Eliza Elizabeth Penney (see memorial #14233760)died in 1887
2. Mary Elizabeth Melson (see memorial #28420196)died in 1894
3. Elizabeth "Lizzy" Jane Beckelhymer (see memorial # 6787235) divorced from Martin April, 1899
4. Caroline "Callie" Bell (my great grandmother) died 1910
5. Rosa Lee Walker Arnold (b. 1886 - Unknown) married 1911, divorced after before 1914
6. Mary Belle Castor (see memorial 29358668) died in 1940
