Charles (Charlie) York, age 89, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008 in Jackson. Charlie was born May 7, 1919 to Charles and Lucy (Nelson) York in Oakland. Charlie married Marianne Bennett on May 4, 1946 in Rock Island, Illinois. He was an Underwriting Manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 40 years. An active member of St. Mary's of the Mountains in Plymouth for the past 23 years. He enjoyed working in his woodshop at home, fishing and snow skiing. Charlie was a devoted son, husband, father and employee. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Marianne of Rancho Murieta, daughter Kathy York of Moraga. Friends are invited to attend a visitation Wednesday, September 10, 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Daneri Mortuary Chapel in Jackson. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, September 11, 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's of the Mountains Catholic Church in Plymouth, graveside service Friday, September 12, 1:00 P.M. at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette. Contributions may be made to either Hospice of Amador, P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95642, Sutter Amador Hospital Foundation Board, 200 Mission Blvd., Jackson, CA 95642 or St. Mary's of the Mountains Catholic Church, C/O Immaculate Conception, P.O.
