Dorothy K. Agress [Cresaptown]
CRESAPTOWN — Dorothy Krnaya Agress, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born in Cumberland on May 2, 1922, to the late Nickolas Krnaya and Dragcia Rozic Krnaya, Mrs. Agress was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Agress; one sister, Zarka Krnaya; and two brothers, George Krnaya and Nicholas Slavko Krnaya. She is the last surviving member of her family.
She was a graduate of Allegany High School and Catherman's Business School and worked at the Celanese Corporation for 17 years. Dottie and her husband were owners and operators of the Cumberland Window Cleaning Company until his death. She enjoyed bingo and bowling with her friends, Toni and Ethel. Dottie also loved her pets.
Dottie was a warm caring friend to all she met. She gave generously of her time to the Cresaptown Community and Volunteer Fire Department. All those who knew her will always have a special place in their heart for her.
She is survived by her two dearest friends and caregivers, Florence "Tootsie" Hill of Cumberland and Harriett Eaton of Rawlings and their children and grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Hafer Funeral Service, P.A. Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, on Friday from 5 to 8 pm.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold McClay officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be Todd Brown, Todd Christopher, Danny Martin, Ronald Martin, Rusty Kitzmiller and Jeff Norris.
