John Wesley "Wes" McCulloch, 80, went home to be with his Lord, whom he loved so much, on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007.
Funeral: Was Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Lockney, with Brian Adams officiating. Interment: 2 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Services in Lockney were under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney.
John was born Jan. 1, 1927, to Nettie Hooper McCulloch and John Sankey McCulloch in Providence near Lockney. He entered the Army at the age of 17. He was stationed in Oregon and received his education from the military.
He later taught school in Courtney (out of Stanton) where he met the love of his life, Bernice Davis, and later married her in Canyon on Nov. 26, 1947. To this blessed union were born three daughters, Jenetta, Sandra and Rebecca and one son, Steve. The couple enjoyed 50 years of matrimony, until her death in 1998. Mr. McCulloch is also survived by six grandchildren, Patrick, Brandy, Georgian, Brice, Cody and Erin, and four great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Cassie, Luke and Lucy. Later in life, he became reacquainted with his wife's best friend, Meredith Crone, and on Sept. 7, 2002, they were married in Shallowwater. Through this union, Wes gained daughters, Melody and Sharon, and grandchildren, Whitney, Tanya, Cheyenne and Dee. Wes worked for General Dynamics for 37 years.
