Gwendolyn G. Alexander, 71, of 1834 Key Way Drive, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery.

She was born on Dec. 17, 1936, in North Buena Vista, Iowa, daughter of Harry and Melinda (Sickles) Hook. She married Earl Alexander, Sr. on Aug. 6, 1955, in Lansing, Iowa.

Gwendolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was expecting her eighth great-grandchild. She loved visiting with friends and cleaning her house.

Surviving are her husband, Earl Alexander Sr., of Dubuque; four children, Earl (Jan) Alexander Jr., of Dubuque, Gale (Joe) Kelley Frederick, of Durango, Paula (Rick) Wagner, of Epworth, and Penny (Dale) Dalsing, of Dubuque; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eunice Weipert, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joe Hook; and a sister, Arlene Olsen.
