Services for Leona Amelon, 66, of 1909 Muscatine Avenue will be at 10 A.M. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The parish rosary will be recited at 5 P.M. Friday at the Donohue Mortuary. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery at Cosgrove. Friends may call after 6 P.M. today and from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. Friday.
Miss Amelon died Wednesday morning at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 18, 1911, in Cosgrove, to H. William and Mary Margaret Scheetz Amelon. She was a longtime resident of the Iowa City area. She was graduated from Iowa City High School and Irish Business College.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and at one time was active in the Johnson County Democratic Party.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Joe (Amelia) Kasper of Iowa City; three brothers, Clarence of Hills, Herman of Moline, Ill., and Virgil (Joe) of Chelsea, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
