He was a member of the G. A. R. and a number of secret societies, and a brother of Former City of Wilmington, DE Treasurer Joseph K. Adams.

He lived at 711 West Eighth street in Wilmington.

He served as a Private with the 4th Delaware Infantry, Company B, the 90th Pennsylvania Infantry, Company E, and 11th Pennsylvania Infantry, Company H during the Civil War.

His Obit:

ADAMS.--In this city, on September 3, 1902, James C. Adams.

Relatives and friends are respectuflly invited to attend the funeral services at his late residence, No. 711 West Eighth street, on Friday afternoon, September 5, at 3 o'clock. Interment private at Riverview Cemetery.
