Mrs. Walbaum was born May 14, 1869, three miles west of Ashland, the daughter of Hannah Stout Crum. She married Ernest A. Walbaum March 5, 1891. They resided between Pleasant Plains and Ashland until his death, in 1928.
In 1929 Mrs. Walbaum moved to her present home in Ashland. She was a member of the Ashland Baptist church for 69 years. She was president of the women's division of the Baptist association and organized the cradle roll department at her church and was in charge of it at the time of her death. She was also a member of the Ashland Woman's club.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Riley, Pleasant Plains; Mrs. Ruth Short, Springfield; three sons, William R. and Fred D., both of Pleasant Plains; G. Crum Walbaum, Springfield; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Hensley funeral home, Pleasant Plains, and will be removed to the residence at Ashland at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Baptist church, Ashland. Rev. F. V. Wright, Greenfield, and Rev. J. W. Smith, of Ashland will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Plains cemetery.
