Enlisted as a Private in Company F, 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry, at Wellington, OH(Lorain County), Aug. 6, 1862, for a term of 3 years. Occupation: Farmer. He died Nov. 26, 1863 at Knoxville TN of wounds received as the Battle of Armstrong's Hill, south of Knoxville, which had been fought on Nov. 25.
