Bill "Paw Paw" Hargrove, 81, passed away at Hospice on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008. He joined his beloved wife, Dolores in Heaven. His faith in the Lord helped him through his courageous battle with Heart Disease, Diabetes and Alzheimer's.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at Heritage Assembly of God with Rev. Jack Dial and the Rev. Ron Barnard, officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Mr. Hargrove was born on March 8, 1927, in Bailey, Texas, to the late E.C. and Saphrona Hargrove. He married the love of his life, Dolores Irene Moore on April 5, 1948, in Vernon, Texas. They were married for 59 years before her death in 2007.
Mr. Hargrove was a devoted and dedicated family man as well as a faithful man of God and a life long member of the Assemblies of God. He worked for LD Jones Food Company until his retirement.
Mr. Hargrove was also gifted in creating beautiful wood-working projects. His amazing quilt racks, porch swings, and baby wagons will be cherished by many for years to come. Bill was known by several names, including the "Yodeler" by his friends and family. He was also known by the WFHS students as the "Change Man." But, he was best known by his grandchildren as the greatest "PawPaw" there ever was.
Mr. Hargrove was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby, Mildred, Eula Vee, Pauline, Vernell, and Patsy; his brothers, E.C. and T.G.; sister-in-law, Voncille Holden; brother-in-law, Dean Turner; and devoted nephew, Rusty Turner.
Survivors include his daughter, Yvonda Case and husband Roger; two sons, Gary Hargrove and wife Susie, and Kerry Hargrove and wife Becky all of Wichita Falls; his grandchildren, Rodney Case and wife Amy, Michelle Williams and husband Steven, Michael Hargrove and fiancée Lauren, Randy Case and wife Cheryl, Jennifer Roberts, Chris Roberts, Chelsea Hargrove, Kyle Dorsey and wife Stephanie, and Kane Dorsey and wife Amanda; great grandchildren, Ryan, Kaleb, Caden, Caroline, Kyler, Bryan, and Cooper; his brother, Alvis Hargrove and wife Betty; sister, Ella Brittian and husband Gene; brothers-in-law, Roy Moore and wife Lena, and Ed Holden; sisters-in-law, Betty Turner, and Leota Belshe and husband Johnny; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send their deepest thanks to Dr. Mike Mitchell and his staff, the loving nurses and caregivers from SCC, and Hospice of Wichita Falls.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
