Odessa Verna Corban Rozell was born October 7, 1914 to William Thedore Corban and Elmina Murr Corban in Stratford, Oklahoma. Odessa married Waymon "Rosy" Rozell on May 18, 1933. They moved to Ft. Worth where Odessa worked for Douglas Air Craft. After the war they moved back to Oklahoma. Odessa was the building manager of the American Fidelity Building in Pauls Valley where she retired at 85 years of age. Odessa was a Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church for several years. She was Past Noble Grand of the Rebeccas.

Odessa was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceding her in death were her parents, 11 brothers and sisters, her husband, Waymon and her "son"-in-law, Jerry Abel. Surviving is her daughter, Phyllis Myers and her husband Bob of Sulphur, Oklahoma; daughter, Waymolene Abel of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Larry Abel and his wife Lori of Los Angeles, California, Angie Chaffin of Norman, Oklahoma, Barbie Pierce and her husband Greg of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Darrin Abel and his wife Shelly of Newcastle, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren: Derek Chaffin and his fiancé Kat, Kyle Chaffin, Olivia Abel, Anna Abel, Brooke Pierce, Korii Beth Pierce, Abbye Pierce, Sooner Pierce, Reagan Abel, Kassidy Abel and Emerson Abel.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rozell are scheduled for Monday, September 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. You may send a condolence to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
