Anna was born in a small one room log cabin with a dirt floor in Logan County, Arkansas, where her German born parents, Friederich and Anna Günther farmed at least 120 acres. Anna married John Martin Willems on February 17, 1903 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Paris, Arkansas. Together they worked on, and lived on the same land her father had owned making many improvements and raised their twelve children in the catholic faith in a two story farmhouse on the same acreage. Anna died of Bright's Disease at the age of 51. She was survived, and dearly missed by her husband of 30 years, John, as well as all twelve children: Catherine, Elizabeth, Phillip, Mathew, William, Fred, Aloys, Frank, Justin, Anna Marie, Margaret, John, and seven grandchildren.
