Joe Neil Kays, 83, of Tioga passed away on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 in Gainesville.

He was born on May 1, 1925 in Tioga to Henry and Lillie Moses Kays. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Pilot Point. He was the former Sexton for about 8 years for the Tioga Cemetery.

He was a very generous person and loved helping people. He was the owner and operator of the Kays Oil Company in Pilot Point for 40 years.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter Linda Jo Kays of Wichita Falls, Texas, a sister-in-law Marilyn Kays of Diamond Bar, Calif. and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

A visitation will be on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at the Huff-Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the chapel of Huff-Slay Funeral Home with Rev. Luther Slay officiating.

Burial will follow at Tioga cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Home Hospice in Gainesville.

Services are under the direction of Huff-Slay Funeral Home.
