"Bettye Thacker Pyles, 72, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday August 14, 2008, at the Hospice Unit in LaGrange, Ky. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Shelby-ville, a 1954 graduate of Shelbyville High School and an active alumni; member of the Colts Corrall # 27 Club in Glen Burnie, Md.
Bettye was preceded in death by parents, B. C. and Hazel Thacker, and a brother, Jim Thacker. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Clarence (Ernie) Pyles; daughter Patti Thomas of Montrose, Co.; two grandchildren; sisters, Pat (Bob) Darby of Simpsonville, Ky., Judy (David) Sparrow of Mt. Eden, Ky., and Linda Sue (Michael) Reilly of Lexington, Ky.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Shannon Funeral Home. Minister Dathan Darby will officiate. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelby-ville, Ky."
