Mrs. Carolyn Mitchell Langton, died Monday, March 23 at Sabine Medical Center in Many after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 at Antioch Baptist church in Florien with interment following at Antioch Cemetery. The Rev. Lawrence Hidalgo, the Rev. Jimmy Evans and the Rev. Tony Langton officiated.

Mrs. Langton's life was a model of devotion, first to Jesus Christ then to her beloved family. She will be remembered for her unselfish service to others through her ministry of prayer, music, witness, encouragement and countless acts of kindness. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church of Florien and served as the pianist at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Negreet.

Survivors included two sons and one daughter-in-law, Tony and Sara Langton and Todd Langton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Butch Manasco and Candace and Curtis Jackson; five grandchildren, Trenton and Trey Langton, Savannah Manasco and Jacob and Jonah Jackson; her mother, Lois Mitchell of Many; three brothers, Jerome Mitchell of Mansfield, Elton Mitchell of Santa Fe, Tenn. and William Mitchell of Prim Springs, Tenn.; and three sisters, Barbara Lavonne Merryman of Shreveport, Linda Montrose of Alexandria and Velora Guess of Hornbeck. Mrs. Langton was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wade Langton and two sons, Ronnie Langton and Tommy T. Langton.

In lieu of flowers, family ask that donations be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church to be designated for Special Missions.

Pallbearers were Trenton Langton, Trey Langton, Butch Manasco, Curtis Jackson, Scott Salter, Buddy McMillian, Lester Savell and Clyde McNeely.
