The names of JOHN FLETCHER and MARY WARD, his wife, are on a plaque on the Memorial Bridge over the Wepawaug River in Milford placed by the Milford 350th Celebration Committee, July 8, 1989. It says: "IN MEMORY OF THE 18 ORIGINAL SETTLERS OF MILFORD WHOSE NAMES WERE NOT PLACED ON THE MEMORIAL BRIDGE WHEN IT WAS BUILT IN 1889: JOHN FLETCHER OBIT OCT 1662 MARY WARD HIS WIFE"

Since there are no burials at the memorial bridge, this is a Cenotaph.

According to FAG contributor, Kay : Mary remarried a John Clark; she died in Farmington, Connecticut, about 1678.
