Robert Apman, 28 years old, one of the most popular members of the Typographical Union No. 76 of Terre Haute, died of typhoid fever at his residence, 1606 North Eighth Street, at 7:30 o'clock Tuesday morning. He had been confined to his home but a little more than a week, although he had complained for a week before leaving his work.
Robert was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. John Apman, of Liberty Avenue. He was born and reared in Terre Haute, receiving his education in the city schools and going to work thirteen years ago on the old Gazette to learn the printing trade. For the past five years he has been employed in the Tribune office as a lynotype operator and was actively involved in affairs of the local union.
He was married four years ago to Bessie Warren, and besides his parents and wife leaves two sons, John Warren Apman, three years old and Robert Ray Apman, eleven months old. Mr. Apman's death came as a surprise to his friends, who did not realize the seriousness of his condition, which turned for the worse Monday night, resulting in hemorrhages, followed by death.
The funeral will be at the residence at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Burial at Highland Lawn cemetery. Typographical Union No. 76 will assist in the services.
