"I never look back,
I'm not going that way"

Our beloved Dad, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Master Mason and Friend, passed away August 29, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. Elvin was born June 17, 1920 in Maple Grove, TN to Rurie and Stella Roach. He married his wife, Hester, in 1938 and had two daughters. He was preceded in death by his wife and now they are reunited. He served in the military during WWII servicing military aircraft. In 1956 he moved his family to Rancho Cordova, starting his career at Aerojet. After 29 years, he retired as a Maintenance Manager and those who knew him will always remember his smile and kindness towards others. After retirement, he continued meeting his co-workers and friends for lunch every Wednesday. Elvin loved his motorhome and traveled extensively throughout the U.S. for 15 years. His hobbies included camping, listening to country music, civil war research and was a licensed ham operator. Elvin will be greatly missed by his daughters Joyce Brown and Debbie Carew along with son-in-law Larry. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Daniel and Terry Brown (Racquel) and Jen and Chad Carew (Julie) along with seven great-grandchildren. Elvin will always live in the hearts of everyone that knew him. Visitation will be held on Friday Sept. 5th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday Sept. 6th at 10:00 AM, East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane.
