While in Wichita, Dave worked in various restaurants around the area. Time not working was devoted to writing and recording his music. His passion for music led him to Tennessee to be closer to the industry.
There he met and fell in love with Stacey Cavanaugh. They married . On June 2, 1999 they had son Eric Tyler. On June 5, 2000 they had daughter Tori Ann. His greatest love and passion was his wife, Stacey & four kids.
His greatest wish was to sit on the porch and watch his two youngest grow up. Preceded in death by parents George Leon & Julia Charlene Smith and nephew Robert Leon Smith.
