Shirley Cornum Fugate, 87, formerly of Sanford, Colo. passed away Thur, July 10, 2008, in Concord, Calif.

She was born March 22, 1921, in Sanford to HD and Lizzie Reed Cornum. Shirley grew up in Sanford and attended Sanford High School, and college in Utah. She married Robert Fugate on March 21, 1943, and he preceded her in death. Shirley was an extraordinary person and wasn't afraid to tackle any job - big or small. She drove a city bus in San Francisco for several years, and also did most of the plumbing in the house that she and her husband built. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her daughters Rogean Fugate, Mary Kay (Bill) Bethea, Tamara (Allen) Burgess, Ranae Fugate, Terri Fugate; son Brent (Liz) Fugate; brothers Frank Cornum of Anaheim, Calif., Monte (Ruth) Cornum of La Jara, Colo, Kurt (Frankie) Cornum of Palisade, Colo; sisters Bonnie Coombs of Tremonton, Utah and Judy Parrish of Sanford; by 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Fugate, daughter Michael Ann, her parents, an infant brother, brother Duwayne Cornum, and sister Gwen Emerson.

Shirley was a wonderful person and will be dearly missed by those who loved her. Funeral services were held Tue, July 15, 2008, at the Alberta Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Concord.
