BOHANNON, Donie Nell King-Age 80. Passed away Sept. 1, 2008 in Franklin, TN. Preceded in death by her husband, Namon Thamar Bohannon. Born Sept. 30, 1927 in Milton, FL. Graduated from Milton High School in 1945. Married Dec. 25, 1945. Survived by six children: Karen Bohannon Williams (Bryan), Stephen Bohannon, Diane Bohannon Taylor (Richard), William Robert (Bob) Bohannon, Cheryl Bohannon Smith (David), Patti Bohannon Pelton (Steve); ten grandchildren: Heather Williams Tuttle, Kari Bohannon McGuire, Dahneka Bohannon Campbell, Jennifer Bohannon, Joshua Bohannon, Amy Bohannon, Sarah Smith, Andrew Smith, Amber Pelton, Cal Pelton; eight great-grandchildren: Kolton Monroe, Kyler Monroe, Katin Monroe, Stephen Bass, Mary Paige McGuire, Mary Noel Campbell, Alethia Campbell, Robert David Campbell; five siblings: Morris King, Della King Nobles, Newton King, Kathryn King Raley, and Mary King Pooley.
Visitation will be held at Lewis Funeral Home, 6405 Highway 90 in Milton, on Friday, Sept. 5, 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Milton on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m., with Dr. David Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Milton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
The family wishes to thank the staff and members of First Baptist, especially the Martha Sunday School class for the loving friendship and support they gave Donie through the years. The family also wishes to thank Clear View Baptist Church in Franklin, TN, for making Donie feel welcomed and loved. A special note of thanks goes to NHC of Cool Springs, Tennessee for making Donie's final days as comfortable as possible.
