Betty Mirabelli, longtime Reno businesswoman, passed away on September 1, 2008 from complications following a stroke. Betty was born in Spring Creek, PA, in 1921, and lived in Reno since 1948. She was one of the finest independent businesswomen in Northern Nevada.
Betty, together with her then husband, Mike Mirabelli, opened Mirabelli's Music City in 1955. Their first store was located in the Village Shopping Center near Reno High School, and then expanded to locations at Gray Reid's department stores in Reno and Carson City. Mirabelli's then became one of the original tenants of Park Lane Mall in 1964. Betty owned and operated the store from 1968 until she gave it to her nephew Buddy in 1999.
In addition to her business pursuits, Betty's passion in life was golf. She pursued this passion at some of the finest courses in the world, and played extensively in the Reno area. She gained many life-long friends on the golf course, and was an avid fan of the game, and especially Tiger Woods, until her death.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father, Margaret and Ralph Beezer and by her beloved sister, Peggy Lehman. She is survived by her brother, Jack Beezer of Chico, CA; niece, Linda (Steve) Lambert of Sparks; niece, Suzi (Jerry) Stempeck of Reno; nephew, Buddy (Lori) Lehman of Sparks, nephew, Vern Beezer of Chico; grand-nieces and nephews, Garrett Lambert, Rose, Casey, and Lauren Scarpa, Len Stempeck, and Jesse and Riley Lehman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 1 p.m., at Walton's Sierra Chapel, 875 W. 2nd St., Reno, with burial at Mountain View Cemetery following the services.∼Parents: Ralph and Margaret Beezer
