Elden Foster is first mentioned in the 1910 Census for the household of James Edwin and Pleassa Caroline "Carrie" (Burkhart)Foster, who had married Jan 2, 1901 in Linn, Oregon. He is the youngest of three children born of their marriage, the other two children being Eva, b.Nov 17, 1901 and Charles, b.May 31, 1903. His name is spelled "Eldin" and his age is given as 3 years, so his year of birth would be about 1907. He is mentioned again in the 1920 Census, where his name is spelled "Elden" and his age is given as 13 years, and he is a student, so his year of birth would still be about 1907. The last Census taken was in 1930 and the family was living in the town of Tallman, Linn County, Oregon. This time, his name is spelled "Eldon" and his age is given as 24 years, which would make his year of birth 1906, and his birthday had already passed; wherein in the previous censuses, taken in the prior years of 1910 & 1920, the counts were taken before his birthday, so he would be 3, not yet 4, and 13, not yet 14. Thus I amended his year of birth to 1906 because, even though Eldin/Elden/Eldon had married when the census was taken in 1930, and his wife's name was Milla Foster, age 24, b.1906 (?), no record could be found of their marriage for me to verify correct spellings or birth dates. His year of death is given as 1953, and, without a headstone or a death certificate no more complete information can be obtained. I found no records regarding children and, as previously mentioned, did not find a death certificate readily available. And this, I find, is really a shame. The headstone reads "Elden Foster 1953" which is what I will use when spelling his first name and date of death. Thank you, Matthew, for taking the photo of his headstone.

Thanks to Diana Greb who has found that Elden Foster died March 20th, 1953 in Multnomah County, Oregon. I have amended his date and place of demise.

I just found that Elden was born June 24, 1906 so have updated his date of birth. His wife was Millie Hampton. This information is per familysearch.org. I also found Millie M. Foster at Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Albany, Oregon. I have submitted an edit to add her maiden name and linked her to her husband. Huzzah, I am grateful to everyone who continues to add records so that eventually missing spouses, parents, children, etc. can be added to memorials.

This is one of the 1st memorials I ever worked on. I have now done a more thorough search and have found that Elden and Milla married in Marion Co., Oregon on July 2nd, 1927.
Also, in 1946, Elden registered his car, a 1935 Chevy sedan, giving his residence as 618 2nd Ave. SE, Albany, Linn Co., Oregon.
