Samuel lee Biddle, 71, of Ninth Street, Williamstown, died Oct. 23, 1997, at Selby General Hospital.
He was born in Williamstown, a son of the late Nicholas B. and Olive D. Hemsworh Biddle. He spent his entire life on the farm where he was born.
He was a Williamstown High School graduate and attended West Virginia University from 1947-1948 in the agricultural program. He was a Williamstown tomato farmer for more than 50 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Williamstown. He attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Waverly.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Elizabeth mangold Biddle of Williamstown; one son, David Nicholas Biddle of Waverly; two daughters, Betsy Ann Biddle of Evans and Jennifer Lee Biddle of Williamstown; two brothers, N. Brent Biddle of Williamstown and R. W. Biddle of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jean Rose.
Services at 2 p.m. Saturday, McClure-Schafer Funeral Home, Marietta, the Rev. Kenneth Calebaugh officiating. Burial Riverview Cemetery.
