CENTRAL KENTUCKY NEWS JOURNAL OBITUARY - 04/10/1958 Funeral services were held for Ezra Lee Skaggs, who died at his home near Mac, on Friday, April 4, [1958] at 9:30 p.m. from a coronary occlusion (heart attack). Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lillie B. Skaggs, and 2 children, Mrs. Carl Shofner, Route 4, and Barbee Skaggs, Route 4; 1 sister, Miss Ella Skaggs, Route 4, and 4 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Clay Risen, Elmer Hash, George Money, Frank Beams, Albert Skaggs and Syndall Underwood. Honorary were Sam Coppock, Cleveland Minor, Wayne Kessler, Dennis Beams, George R. Phillips, Omer Stone and Omer Caulk. Mr. Skaggs was born February 17, 1888, in the Mac Community, the son of Samuel Skaggs and Mary Morgan Smith, Larue County. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Roberts Baptist Church, with Brother T.M. Stearman and the Rev. Lawson officiating. Mr. Skaggs had served as a member of the Taylor County Board of Education for 8 years. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery.
