Venelia Monette "Butch" Cluck, 84, of Galatia, died 8:19 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Jeff Rush officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 14, 1923, in West End to the late Orvel and Audra (Hall) Abney. On Nov. 22, 1947, she married Donald Cluck in Galatia, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 2004.
She worked for Dr. Frank for 27 years in Harrisburg as a nurse and office clerk. Venelia attended college in Cleveland, Ohio, at the Ohio Institute of Medican and before that during World War II, was employed at the Air Service Command Base, Patterson Field. Mom maintained her independence until the time of her death.
She is survived by three sons, Michael (Ann) Cluck of Galatia, Mark (Shela) Cluck of Collinwood, Tenn. and Matthew (Joy) Cluck of Galatia; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Cluck; and a brother, Bernard Hall Abney.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
