Ova Lawrence Schultz, son of Knud and Karen (Tordrup) Schultz was born on a farm 3 miles south of Ruskin, Nebraska, on June 8, 1894 where he spent his entire life.
In infancy he was baptized into the Lutheran faith and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Ruskin, Nebraska.
On March 29, 1916, he was united in marriage to Martha Elisa Rasmussen at Hebron, Nebraska. He was engaged in farming until his retirement. To this union five boys and two girls were born.
He was a faithful, loving and patient father and husband; a good neighbor, ready and willing to help others; interested in family and friends to whom his home was always open.
Ova was a faithful member of the Danish brotherhood for over fifty years.
He departed from this life June 1, 1970, in Concordia, Kansas, as the result of a heart attack following major surgery, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 21 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother in infancy, one brother, Henry; daughter, Madeline and son, Raymond.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Martha; sons, Eugene, Edwin, Wayne and Keith; daughter JoAnn (Mrs. Berdon Renz; four daughters-in-law and one son-in-law. All of the Ruskin community; 18 grandchildren; and one great grandchild; three sisters; Mrs. Marie Nelson of Superior, Mrs. Henry Wall (Dora) of Ruskin, Mrs. Ingabor Wall of Albany, Oregon; and a host of relatives and friends.
