Funeral services were held at the McCullough Funeral Home in Mesquite Monday for 4 year-old Shirley Elizabeth Preslar, whose death Sunday was attributed to a spider bite.
Justice of the Peace W.E. Richburg returned a verdict of accidental death due to an insect bite, "probably by a black-widow spider."
The child was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William P. Preslar of Route 3, Box 297. Deputy sheriffs said the child apparently was bitten sometime Saturday. Sunday moring she had convulsions and died at 10 a.m. they said.
Burials was int he Bennett Cemetery at Mesquite.
