Opal Marie Smith is the daughter of James Otis Smith (1902-1972) and Ruby Bell Hart (1908-1974). Her mother, Ruby, married second to William F. Hodgson.

Couch, Opal Marie Age 77, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2006 in Lakeport, CA. She was born May 24, 1929 in Carlton, WA. Opal had previously lived in Sonoma County for 38 years. She was a member of the Early Ford V-8 Club of America. Opal is survived by her husband of 58 years, Don Couch of Upper Lake, son and daughter-in-law, Darwin (Irene) Walters of Santa Rosa, brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale (Sharon) Smith of Redding, Darrel (Eileen) Smith of Hermiston, OR, Kenneth (Gwen) Smith of Tacoma, WA, sister and brother-in-law, Rosealie (Frank) Walters of Ellensburg, WA, daughter-in-law Pearl Walters Fender, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by son James Donald Couch and grandson Troy Otis Walters. A Gravesite Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday June 5th at Upper Lake Cemetery, Upper Lake, CA.
