LAURENS, Nov. 15 - Clarence T. Satterwhite, 70, of 114 Conway Ave., died early Tuesday alternoon at his home following one year's illness.
A native of Laurens County, he was the son of the late James W. and Sarah Hazel Satterwhite.
He had lived in the Mountville Community most of his life time and moved to Laurens about three years ago. He was a member of Todd Memorial Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Ella Crowder Satterwhite; two sons, J. W. Satterwhite of Mountville and Algie Satterwhite, of Laurens: four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Graham and Mrs. Ila Mae Hodges, both of Greenwood, Mrs. Elizabeth Murray and Mrs. Margaret Edwards, both of Laurens; two brothers, Lander Satterwhite of Laurens and Frank Satterwhite of Lanford; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Whitmire and Mrs. Emma Weeks of Laurens; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Kennedy Mortuary by the Rev. Herbert Bailey and the Rev. J. E. Kinard.
Burial will be in Little River Dominick Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ralph, J. W., Charles, Randolph and Talmadge Crowder, and Rufus Satterwhite.
After 12 noon Wednesday the body will be at the home and will be returned to the Kennedy Mortuary at 9 a.m. Thursday.
