Willard E. Cairns, 88, of 1600 11th Ave., Menominee, MI, passed away Saturday morning, July 6, 2002, at the Luther Home, Marinette, WI. He was born March 28, 1914, Menominee, MI, to the late Robert and Fannie Mae (Eveland) Cairns, residing in Menominee all of his life.
He had been employed by the former Prescott Company and later by Lloyd-Flanders Industries as a machinist. After formal retirement, he continued to work for several years at the Menominee Herald-Leader. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Menominee, MI.
Willard is survived by two daughters, Judy (Dale) Paust of Crivitz, WI, and Kathy Hasenfus of Marinette; four grandchildren; three great-grandchldren; a brother, Dr. Donald Cairns of East Lansing, MI; and a sister, Betty Bollrud, of LaCrosse, WI. He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 8, 2002, at 3 p.m. in the Luther Home Chapel. The Rev. Philip Tousley will officiate Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee, MI. Hansen-Onion- Martell Funeral Home, Marinette, WI, is serving the family.
