Obituary - Marshall
Funeral services where held for Harvey (Bun) Marshall of Gillingham, Thursday afternoon,. Feb. 17th, at the Pratt Funeral Home in Richland Center and interment was at the Fancy Creek cemetery.
"Bun" Marshall, as he was known by his many friends, was born Oct. 28, 1870, in the town of Marshall, and died at his home on Fancy Creek, Feb. 14th at the age of 78 years. He was the son of Ann Wanless and, Harvey Marshall, who were among the first settlers in the town of Marshall. Bun was the last survivor of seven children born to this union.
He was united In marriage to Lillian Rinehart of Gllllngham In 1896 and to this union were born two daughters, Lura (Mrs. Phil Cosgrove of Gillingham) and Marie (Mrs. Glenn Lepley of Viola), who survive him. Mrs. Marshall died in 1910 after a brief illness.
In 1913 he married Viola Shaffer of the town of Bloom. She passed away in the spring of 1918.
In 1919 he married Mabel Shuckhhart of Ash Ridge. She had three children by a previous marriage, Stanley, of the town of Marshall, Helen (Mrs. Harvey Peckham, of York, Pa.) and Eva (Mrs. Sam Shepherd of the town of Union). A daughter, Bessie (Mrs. Ed Glander of Milwaukee) was the only child of this union. All of the children survive him.
He is also survived by two brothers-in-iaws, Everett and Len Rhinehart, and Mrs. Miller Gillingham, whom he raised from childhood following the death of their mother.
He leaves many other relatives and friends, including seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bun lived in and around the town of Marshall all of his life and was a farmer by occupation. His passing was mourned by a great host of friends and comrades with whom he had made acquaintance during his lifetime.
