Funeral services for Alvie Dee (Britton) Lovell, 88, of Athens were held Saturday at Spry Funeral Home with Rev. Burl Grubb officiating. Burial followed in Higgins Cemetery. She died Friday morning at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Her husband, Lenton Ensley Lovell, died on October 31, 1968. Survivors include her daughters, Etha Christine Hudson and Katherine Inez Ferguson, both of Athens, Frances Jewel Weith of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Opal Mae Romine of Anderson; her sons, Floyd Arthur Lovell of Athens and Lermon Ensley "Mackie" Lovell of Scottsboro; her brother, Frank Britton of Athens; her sister, Pearl Holmes of Athens; nineteen grandchildren; and twenty six great-grandchildren.
