Richard Charles Murray

Richard Rick Charles Murray, 48, died Monday, October 6, 2006, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., after a sudden illness.

Murray was born March 25, 1958, in Wallace, Idaho, to James and Betty (Gilmore) Murray.

He lived in the Miami area since 1990.

He was a veteran of the Navy, having served 12 years.

He was a self-employed home remodler.

Survivors include one daughter, Monica M. Woods of Chetopa, Kan.; three sisters, Sandy Burns of Miami and Melba Creech and Terri Moore, both of Picher; two brothers, James Murray of Post Falls, Idaho, and Mark Murray of Picher, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Cooper and Brenda Roberts.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pence Cemetery in Baxter Springs, Kan.

Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
