Charles T. Keating, Retired Head of State Tax Division, Dies at 71
Charles T. Keating, 71, retired director of the inheritance and gift division of the Minnesota tax department, died Monday night following a heart attack in his 77 N Oxford St. apartment.
Mr. Keating retired in 1960 after 21 years of state service. He was first appointed in 1939 as assistant attorney general by former Attorney General J. A. A. Burnquist and became inheritance division director in 1943.
Masonic services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Henry funeral home, 536 N. Snelling Ave., with burial in Acacia Park cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; two daughters, Mrs. Keith Adrian, Chula Vista, Calif., and Mrs. John Purinton, Baldwin Park, Calif., and three grandchildren.
