He was born on Sept. 11, 1939, in San Angelo.
He was married to: Mary Elizabeth Calhoun (married Oct.12, 1963 and divorced July 9, 1982) and Olivia Guerra (married July 6, 1985 and divorced July 11, 1986)and wife Carolyn of San Angelo. He and Mary Calhoun had two children together.
His parents, John Robert and Bessie May (Kinsey) Cornelius and nephew, Jim Wyatt preceded him in death.
John is survived by his son, John Robert Cornelius III of Adkins; siblings, Joann Wyatt of Adkins and James E. Cornelius and wife Carolyn of San Angelo; nieces, Bessie M. Wyatt of Adkins, Laura D. Fletcher of San Antonio, and Kelly Nelson of San Angelo; his nephew, John B. Wyatt of Adkins; close friend, June Livingood of New Braunfels; and numerous cousins and friends.
