Jackie Dale Bargery, 57, who served as the Assistant Chief of Police for the city of Ridgely, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at his residence.

He was a member of Cottonwood Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Services were at 2 PM Saturday at Cottonwood Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Mackie Price and the Rev. Ralph Buckley officiating. Burial followed in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Dale Bargery of Ridgely; two daughters, Kim Keeling and her husband, Stone Keeling of Ridgely and Lisa Hamilton and her husband Shane Hamilton of Ridgely; his father Melvin "Poppa" Bargery; three sisters, Sandra Gant of Tiptonville, Donna Osteen of Ridgely and Martha Ann Brooks of Newbern; three brothers, Paul Edward Bargery of Tiptonville, Jerry Lynn Bargery of Newbern and Aaron Dallas Bargery of Ridgely; and four grandchildren, Dillon Keeling, Jackson Hamilton, Dustin Keeling and Jameson Hamilton.

Pallbearers were Tony Bargery, Joel Deal, Donald Bargery, Greg Hamilton, Roger Turnbo and Steve Jones. The Ridgely Police Department and Lake County Sheriff's Department served as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
